ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Ukay J. Ekong is a successful self-published writer, born and raised on the northeast side of Dallas, Texas. Growing up with hard-working Nigerian immigrant parents, Imoh and Grace, Ukay learned the value of perseverance and putting his best foot forward. He discovered his passion for writing at a young age, through daily journaling exercises in elementary school.
 
Ukay has had an extensive career in mentoring, teaching, and volunteering in his community, before turning to writing full time. He specializes in creating books that promote physical and spiritual health, as well as mental support for African-American youth and adults. Ukay is open about his struggles with bullying and how he used those negative experiences to fuel his work on combining fitness and mental health in his first workbook, Buck-Naked & Blessed.

The book is not perfect, has bunch of misprints, missing letters, however the illustrations are perfect.. more people should realize the Bible stories are about non-white folks. For that alone this coloring/activity book deserves 5 stars. Thank you!

This coloring book is everything I needed and more. I started a children’s church for my predominantly Black/African American church. All of the kids that attend regularly are Black. It’s hard to find Christian materials with figures that look like us. The art is great. It has the main Bible stories. I hope a part 2 will be made with even more characters.
